Q. If I am approved for membership how long do I have to join before I would have to re-apply for membership?

A. Once a candidate has been approved for membership they shall have 30 days to make arrangements to join and to pay any applicable initiation and current fees due.  If more than 30 days has passed the application process shall have to begin again unless the current Ethan Allen Club President grants special approval.

Q. I am a current resident member but I have moved out of Chittenden County and do not have my place of business there.  How do I change my status to Non-Resident Member?

A. As long as you are a member in good standing simply write a letter to the governing board relating the changes in your situation.  The board will vote on the change at its next regularly scheduled meeting.  The club secretary will then notify you of the change in your status.

Q. What if I was previously a member of the Ethan Allen Club but I am not currently a member of the Ethan Allen Club, how do I re apply for membership?

A. Any person who was once a member of the EAC and having resigned in good standing may be reinstated as a member by submitting a letter to the board of your intention to rejoin.  Once received it will be voted upon at the next regularly scheduled board meeting.  At least eight board members must approve the reinstatement with no more than one board member voting against reinstatement.

Q. Do I have to pay extra dues for my spouse or significant other?

A. Spouses and significant others are not charged any extra fees to enjoy the benefits of the Ethan Allen Club.  They also may visit the EAC without the presence of the member.  It is always a good idea to make sure several staff members know whom the spouse is to make them feel more at home when visiting the EAC alone or with friends.

Q. Is the Ethan Allen Club for men only?

A. No.  The Ethan Allen Club started out as a mens only club but changed it's by-laws to admit women in 1990.  Since then many women have joined the Ethan Allen Club and enjoy all of the benefits the club has to offer.
